Today was the first official day of my journey and I decided to just flip open my bible and read wherever I landed. To just let God have complete and utter control of what he wanted me to learn today. I opened to 1st Chronicles 14; this chapter is about David being established as king of over Israel. Today I wanna share with you the framework of being established as a king in the kingdom of God and how to be feared and respected the kingdom of Darkness.
In this chapter David comes up against the philistines twice and both times he asks God for direction: ch. 14:10 and ch. 14:14. Those two verses are key. In those verses we learn just how important it is to ask God for direction and also that when he gives you direction he’ll never lead you astray. This is why it is important to pray everyday. To form a relationship with God so that you’ll know his voice amidst those of the crowd. So that when he does give you direction you hear and understand them clearly. The second part to this is as important if not more so than the first; obediance.
David didn’t just ask God what to do then decide his way was better or that God didn’t know what He was talking about. No, he obeyed without question and without hesitation. And twice he defeated the Philistines. After those two victories the bible says this about David in verse 17, “Then the fame of David went out into all the lands, and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.”
Your prayer life + your obediance are the keys to your kingship. Without ushering in the presence of God into your life you live without his manifest power. Without that you are powerless and weak, and you can’t be a king if you’re weak. David learned this and became one of the greates kings Israel ever had. Abraham learned this and became the father of many nations. Saul learned this and became Paul; then proceeded to win souls for the kingdom until his death. The disciples learned this and revolutionized the world. Just think of what you could do if you learned and applied this to your life. Jesus said in John 14:12-14 that, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, beause I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” So begin to ask him to manifest his power in you, ask him to usher in his presence to preceed you wherever you go. God just might surprise you with how much he does through you and how far he takes you. All he’s asking for his a relationship and obediance. He’s willing to give you kingship and eternity in return.
Thank you all for reading and hope you learned as much from this as I did. I also hope that you apply this to your daily lives and share what it does for you with friends, family, even strangers. I will leave you with this: May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
